When summer temperatures rise, so can the struggle to get a good night’s sleep. Even with the A/C running it can’t always keep up with our Southeast heat and humidity! Did you know that 65 degrees Fahrenheit is the optimal temperature for sleep? Unfortunately, it is hard for the best of hvac units to get to that temp right now.

For those of us who sleep hot even on a cool night, getting a good night’s sleep can be almost impossible. We have some tips and solutions for sleeping cooler and waking up refreshed.

Choose a Cooling Mattress

Many mattresses trap heat, and certain foams are known for this. If you’re sleeping hot we’ll help you find breathable materials like gel-infused memory foam, latex, or hybrid mattresses that are specifically designed to keep the sleeper cool. Check out all our cooling mattress options. You can even watch this video of real life customers trying out some of our coolest beds.

Upgrade Your Bedding

Swap heavy weight sheets for lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics like bamboo. Our Iced Linen sheet set is perfect for hot sleepers. Available in grey, white, and ivory.

Layer The Cooling Power

We offer a cooling option in every type of sleep accessory. Choose from our cooling pillows and mattress protectors to really layer on the cool from head to toe.

Keep the Air Moving

Fans help circulate air and may reduce humidity. If you haven’t tested your humidity levels you can get an inexpensive hygrometer to track them over time. If your humidity indoors exceeds 50% on a regular basis, a dehumidifier might help your indoor conditions.

Block Out the Sun

During the day, keep blinds closed to prevent heat buildup. Blackout curtains are especially effective in reducing temperature and helping you sleep better at night. We recommend those regardless of indoor temperatures just for the light blocking benefits.
